Jazz Port Night Festival, Germany
The maritime city of Bremerhaven has always been a city with a long history and tradition in all areas. In the field of music, too, there have been jazz and soul festivals, which over the years have attracted music enthusiasts from beyond the city limits to the port city.
With the "Seaside Jam" on October 27 and 28, 2017, a new high-quality and multi-faceted cultural festival with a lot of tradition was installed for the North German region: The two-day concert marathon in the Bremerhaven City Hall combines the best of established music events in one weekend: "Jazz-Port-Festival" on Friday and "Soulfood Festival" on Saturday. More than ten bands with internationally known artists were present.
On Friday evening 27.10.2017 at the "Jazz-Port-Night" the German music star Jeff Cascaro presented his album, which was released in autumn 2017, in the Stadthalle Bremerhaven. For more than 15 years Cascaro has been shaping his own understanding of jazz with relations to soul. His music has emotions, strong melodies and a powerful sound language. Fanta-4 drummer Florian "Flo" Dauner, Christian von Kaphengst and Hendrick Soll from Till Brönner's band provide the groove.
Afterwards the Danish Gitte Haenning with her wonderful, versatile voice impressively presented her enormous repertoire. Gitte Haenning, who hasn't wanted "a cowboy as a man" (one of her famous songs, but not her main genre) for a long time, recently took on the leading role in the musical "Sunset Boulevard" in Lübeck and is internationally recognized as a jazz singer. At the "Jazz-Port-Night" she was supported by her great band.
Only Voice-Acoustic loudspeakers were used as monitor system for the professional musicians. 7 pieces of CXN-16 and a Paveosub-118 for the drummer made sure that the musicians felt comfortable on stage and could fully concentrate on their performance. The loudspeakers were powered by HDSP system amplifiers. The good monitor sound was complimented several times by the artists.
