Jamboree Jazz & Dance Club installs new Voice-Acoustic sound system

The Jamboree Jazz & Dance Club on Plaça Reial, next to La Rambla in Barcelona (Spain), is not only one of the most famous jazz clubs in Spain but also one of the oldest in Europe. The club, which opened in 1960, has hosted jazz legends such as Bill Coleman, Ornette Coleman, and Chet Baker, to name just a few. Since 1993, Jamboree - Sala 1 has also transformed into a dance club for lovers of R&B, Hip-Hop, and Dancehall, featuring the best DJs in the city.

In early 2024, the sound system in the 257m² vaulted basement (Jamboree - Sala 1), which has a capacity for 220 people, underwent an extensive renovation. The Spanish Voice-Acoustic distributor VTècnics en Ruta S.L. from Lleida was tasked with designing and implementing a new sound system for this cozy, cave-like basement space.

Sound-obsessed project manager Francesc Guell Llobera (co-owner of VTècnics) implemented his sound design with Voice-Acoustic Score-8 speakers. A total of 2x Score-8 and 2x Paveosub-118 are used as the main PA, supported by a delay line of 2x Score-8 to ensure even sound distribution.

For the three adjacent rooms (VIP area, bar area, and passageway), a combination of Score-8 and a flown Paveosub-115 is used in each space. For perfect control during live events, the musicians have a total of 6x Modular-12 (bi-amped) and 2x Alea-5 as monitoring. For the DJ, 2x Modular-12 speakers were installed to provide precise and powerful sound reproduction.

The entire system is powered by 6 Voice-Acoustic HDSP amplifiers (28 amplifier channels).

Many thanks to Francesc Guell Llobera and the entire VTècnics team, as well as J.M. Olmos and the entire Jamboree management team for their trust.
